Materials Management Planning

Governor Whitmer signed an eight bill package on December 22, 2022 to update Michigan's solid waste laws, which has been more than six years in the making. Part 115 will shift the priority from solid waste to landfill diversion and materials management. Counties are required to update their Solid Waste Management Plans, now called Materials Management Plans, for the first time in 20 years.

Notice of Intent

Emmet County filed its Notice of Intent with the State of Michigan July 2024 and notified all legislative bodies of each municipality in the planning area.
